Brian Seagraves is a volunteer pharmacist and director of the Hepatitis C Treatment Clinic at Mercy Health Center. In 2010, Brian started the Hepatitis C Clinic based on his observation of infection rates in the indigent and underserved in the Athens and the surrounding communities. At Mercy, if a patient tests positive for Hepatitis C, they immediately go into Brian’s care, which includes a team of other providers, including mental health, nutrition, and spiritual advisors. Brian develops a deeply bonded relationship with each patient, and emphasizes the importance of working together. Since the Clinic’s inception, and under Brian’s guidance, Mercy Health Center has treated about 100 Hepatitis C patients, achieving a remarkable successful treatment rate of 97% percent.
Brian Seagraves was awarded the Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award through the Healthcare Georgia Foundation at a reception on March 29th in Atlanta. Our organization is extremely blessed that Brian gives of his time, talents and treasures to our patients through his faithful service as our Hepatitis C Treatment coordinator. Thank you Brian!!
