Brian Seagraves receives Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award

Categories: New Releases

Brian Seagraves is a pharmacist and director of the Hepatitis C Treatment Clinic at Mercy Health Center. In 2010, Brian started the Hepatitis C Clinic based on his observation of infection rates in the indigent and underserved in the Athens and the surrounding communities. At Mercy, if a patient tests positive for Hepatitis C, they immediately go into Brian’s care, which includes a team of other providers, including mental health, nutrition, and spiritual advisors. Brian develops a deeply bonded relationship with each patient, and emphasizes the importance of working together. Since the Clinic’s inception, and under Brian’s guidance, Mercy Health Center has treated about 100 Hepatitis C patients, achieving a remarkable successful treatment rate of 97% percent.

On March 29th, Healthcare Georgia Foundation awarded Brian Seagraves the Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award at a reception in Atlanta. We are so thankful for Brian’s service to our patients and the success of Mercy’s Hepatitis C Treatment program. Thank you Brian!
