(June 21, 2021) This Week's Mercy Minute
MMAP stands for Mercy Medication Assitance Program. At Mercy Health Center, medications that are too expensive to be purchased at outside pharmacies such as insulin and inhalers can often be ordered through the MMAP program. Our MMAP coordinator meets with patients to order their medications directly from the pharmaceutical companies. Mandy Baxley, our MMAP coordinator, orders over 100 medications a month providing much needed, life saving prescriptions.
Mandy graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina with a degree in English and Communications. Mandy initially had a job as a pharmaceutical sales rep and then took some time off to be a mother. She currently serves as the Mercy Medication Assitance Program coordinator. We are grateful for her willingness to serve not only the Athens community but also Mercy's mission.
Thank you to Classic City Church for your ongoing partnership in our mission to provide quality whole-person care for our underserved neighbors. Classic City Church has given generously to Mercy’s mission over the years. We are deeply grateful for their continued support.
