Marion Butler is employed by Synovus Bank as a Vice President for the Oconee County market. He received his BBA degree in finance from Georgia Southern University. Butler is a past president of the Oconee County Rotary Club and a past Chairman for the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. He attends Briarwood Baptist Church in Watkinsville where he serves on the finance committee. He and his wife, Darlene have four adult children and a Boykin Spaniel named Hershey.
Pastor Tracy L. Boles is a native of Hampton, South Carolina. He and his lovely wife, First Lady Darlene Boles, have three children: their son Tracy James, and two daughters Faith and Love. Pastor Boles served as a personal assistant to Bishop James H. Morton for ten years and as the Youth Pastor of the New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church. In 2011, he was installed as the proud Senior Pastor of the Timothy Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia.
Timothy graduated with his Ph.D. in Sociology from Texas A&M University in 1999. Since 2012 Timothy has served as the Vice President for Information Technology for the University of Georgia. The vice president for information technology (VPIT), reporting directly to the Provost, is the university’s highest-ranking technology executive. Dr. Chester, his wife Gail, and their dogs Ching and Eddy reside in Athens, Georgia. They worship at Cornerstone Church.
Bricker Daughtry maintains a diverse litigation practice with the law firm Fortson, Bentley and Griffin. Bricker represents individuals and corporations in disputes ranging from general business litigation and employment matters to personal injury cases. Bricker earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in 2007. While attending Cumberland School of Law, Bricker served as an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. He was also selected by the school’s faculty to participate in the Judge Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellowship. He received the Scholar of Merit Award for Mediation and Mediator Practice. Prior to attending law school, Bricker earned a B.S. degree in Cellular Biology and a M. Ed. Degree in Science Education from the university of Georgia. He also was a high school teacher and coach at Apalachee High School in Barrow County. Outside of work, Bricker loves spending time with his wife and four children. He also enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, running, baking artisan bread, and exploring Asian cuisines.
Dan DeLamater is the President of Southern Mutual Insurance Company. Dan is a native Atlantan and a graduate of Georgia State University. He married into the Athens community through wife Cory (Genteman). The DeLamaters live in Athens with their daughter Amelia and son Braden. Dan is in the Athens Rotary Club, is a board member of the Athens Touchdown Club, serves on the Clarke County Mentor Program board, and serves on various insurance industry boards. The DeLamaters were married at Emmanuel Episcopal and worship there today.
Robert graduated from Cedar Shoals High School, Athens and later went on to receive his B.S. degree in criminal justice and an MBA from Albany State University as a Regents award recipient. Robert received his law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law, where he matriculated as a Governor’s Scholar. Robert is currently President and CEO of The Dean Group,, LLC, a Government Relations consulting firm. Robert is also Associate Pastor, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Athens, GA.
Dr. Frantz is a general dentist. He was born and raised in Oconee County right outside of Athens. He graduated from Presbyterian College with a degree in Biology and then the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. Johnny opened his family and cosmetic dental office in Watkinsville in 1994. He and his wife Joanne have two daughters and live in Bishop. They are active members of Classic City Church.
Lauren Ledbetter Griffeth is a loyal Bulldog. With three degrees from the University of Georgia, Lauren finished a PH.D. in Adult Education with a Certificate in Human Resources and Organizational Development in 2013. Lauren held positions in fundraising for higher education and healthcare before she began serving as an Extension Leadership Specialist directing programs for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Lauren resides in Watkinsville with her husband Tim and their two children, Tanner and Lillian. They attend Watkinsville First Baptist Church.
Cynthia (Cindy) is a graduate of the University of Georgia (ABJ – ‘72) and the Southern Trust School, Birmingham, AL. She has over 30 years of financial services experience, spending 25 of these years in the Personal Trust and Investment Management area. Pryor to joining Synovus Trust Company in 2004, she served as the Private Client Services Executive at Sun Trust Bank – Athens. Cindy currently serves on the Board of Directors of Athens Area Community Foundation, The Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia, and Mercy Health Center. She and her husband, Wayne, and married daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Johnson and Dr. Cynthia Shepherd are long time residents of Oconee County. Cindy and Wayne are long time members of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Ryan is a graduate of Valdosta State University (2003) with a degree in Business Management. He moved to Athens in 2005 and has been a Commerical Banker with Wells Fargo for the past 10+ years. Ryan attends Athens First United Methodist Church with his wife Kimberly and their twin 3 1/2 year old children.
David Linder is a partner with the firm, Fortson Bentley and Griffin in Athens, Georgia, representing individuals and businesses in commercial transactions and corporate matters. Linder received a B.S, M.S., and J.D. from the University of Georgia. He has served on the boards of The Georgia Children’s Chorus and the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and is an active member of Briarwood Baptist Church.
Rosalva has been happily married for 28 years to her loving husband, Justo, with which she has two precious children. She is originally from Mexico, but has proudly called Georgia her home for 25 years now. She serves our lord at St. Matthews Catholic Church as a volunteer. There, she is a member of the Finance committee, as well as overseer of any issues that may arise. Her objective is to give Glory to God through her service, to love, and to always be there for her family, and those in need.
Alison is a returning Mercy Health Center Governing Board Member. Alison graduated from the Terry College of Business in 1997. She owns and operates ATN Financial, LLC. Alison is married to Blaine, and they live in Athens with their three children. She is an avid runner and attends Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Ryan Nesbit currently serves as UGA’s vice president for finance and administration. In this capacity, he also serves as treasurer for the UGA Athletic Association, treasurer for the UGA Research Foundation, and chair of the UGA Real Estate Foundation. He earned an MBA from UGA after completing his undergraduate work at The Citadel. He is a member of the Athens First United Methodist Church, volunteers with Kairos Prison Ministries, and serves on the Boards of UGA’s Wesley Foundation and the Mercy Health Center. He and his wife Dale have two sons, Trent and Luke.
Dr. Patterson is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a native of Georgia, raised in Valdosta, and first came to Athens to attend the University of Georgia. He is a practicing physician at Athens Eye Doctors & Surgeons. Dr. Patterson works with Medical Campus Outreach and is involved at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. He and his wife Lauren live in Athens with their three children. Dr. Patterson and his wife Lauren, both volunteer for Mercy Health Center.
Ron graduated from the Terry College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1983. In 1986, he earned his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Brenau University. He served as the administrator for the Toccoa Clinic for 9 years (1992-2001) and is currently a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Athens. Ron serves on the Athens Rotary Club and he and his wife, Ellen, attend Athens Church.
Leslie is originally from Atlanta but has lived in Athens for the last 30 years. She graduated in 1983 from the University of Georgia in International Business and Finance and worked in the banking industry until their first child came along. Six years ago she returned to the workplace and is now an assistant portfolio manager for Burney-Campbell Investments in Watkinsville. She has been married to Robert for 34 years and they have three children, Trey, Blake and Elizabeth.
Neil currently serves as President and CEO of Oconee State bank, bringing 28 years of broad based banking experience to the team. Over the years his main focus has been to lead financial institutions to levels of accelerated performance by placing a high emphasis on building a remarkable culture within the organization. He believes that by hiring remarkable people and putting them in a remarkable culture it will yield remarkable results. Neil began his career as a management trainee in 1989 with the Citizens and Southern National Bank. More recently, he spent ten years with KeyWorth Bank as the President and Chief Operating Officer and was a founding member and organizer of KeyWorth. He helped build a remarkable culture at KeyWorth, which grew to approximately $450 million in assets. He helped negotiate a profitable merger with Renasant Bank in March of 2016. Prior to KeyWorth, he spent nine years with IronStone Bank serving as the Area President for the Georgia Market. This included running 21 retail branches, the mortgage operation, private banking, business banking, residential construction and commercial banking.
Adam Yelton serves as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Watertight Roofing Services, LLC. Adam grew up in Athens, GA where he attended and graduated from Prince Avenue Christian School. He left Athens in 1994 to serve in the United States Air Force and returned in 2001 and began working in the roofing industry. Adam is married to Oconee county native Sarah Miller Yelton and they have 5 children. They are active members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Fred Young is a physician who has practiced primary care internal medicine in Athens for over 25 years. Currently, Dr. Young is the Athens Regional Health System Vice President responsible for the Athens Regional Physician Group, a network of over 100 primary care and specialty physicians who are affiliated with Athens Regional Medical Center. Dr. Young and his wife, Amy, have five children.
Brooks Arnold is the Senior Vice President-Wealth Management, ARH Group , Merrill Lynch. He is a graduate of Emory University, class of 1975 and moved to Athens in December , 1981. He has been married to Kimberly T. Arnold for over forty years and has three daughters and two grandsons. He is a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Dr. Brown is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Brown, his wife Lacey, and their newborn son Gibson Bruce reside in Commerce. In addition to serving on the advisory board, he serves as a board member of the Downtown Development Authority and also is on the board of SWAT student ministries. He and his wife enjoy being involved at Redeemer Presbyterian church, PCA, where Dr. Brown serves as a deacon.
Paul Buczynsky is an Emergency Physician by training and graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine. He was a founding member of Mercy. He is married to an amazing wife (Dara) and has three incredible children. He and his family are involved with the Classic City Community Church. Paul and Dara’s most recent adventure consists of opening the Downtown Athens boutique, Epiphany.
Paul Chambers is a native of Athens and graduate of Clarke Central and the University of Georgia. He serves as the Northeast Georgia Regional Director of External Affairs for AT&T. After serving on the governing board of Mercy for 8 years, he joined the advisory board in 2015. He and his wife Suzanne have four children and two grandchildren. They live in Watkinsville and attend Watkinsville First Baptist Church.
Lenn Chandler retired from Georgia Power Company as Regional Vice President after 33 years with the company. He served as the Chair of the Mercy Health Center Board in 2015 – 2016. Lenn serves as the chair of the St. Mary’s Foundation board. He is married to Paula and they have one son, Preston, that is a student at the University of North Georgia. They are members of Watkinsville Baptist Church.
Chris Grahl, a native of Anderson, S. C., is a Sales Representative for Patterson Dental Company. He has been in dental sales for the past 35 years, relocating in the mid 90’s to Athens, GA. He has worked in North Georgia which includes Athens and surrounding cities providing service and sales of the latest, advanced technology in the dental field. For the past 9 years Chris has served his community by coaching team sports in Oconee County.
Bryan Harris is a public relations and marketing professional for Jackson Spalding, managing their sports and university-related clients. Bryan is an Athens native and attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala., where he was a member of their nationally-ranked golf team, before transferring to The University of Georgia. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sports Studies with a minor in Mass Communications and a master’s from the Grady College in Mass Communication/Public Relations with an emphasis in Political Communication. Bryan and his wife Ashlea have two young children, Hannon and Kyle Grace. Bryan and his family attend Athens Church.
A native of Thomaston, Georgia, she has taught students from ages four-years to eighty- four years since 1978 when she moved to Athens, Georgia. Cindy works as an Etiquette & Protocol Consultant for the Georgia Civility Campaign. She and Daniel Haygood, her husband, have a daughter and live in Watkinsville, Georgia. She holds board positions with the Georgia Children’s Chorus, First Baptist Church, Parkview Playschool, Inc. and the Greater Athens Auburn Alumni Club.
Jack Hodge leads Medlytix’s business development efforts, having previously worked with startups, strategic growth and mergers and acquisitions of small-to-medium size businesses. Jack currently serves on the finance board and treasury committee at Northeast Georgia Health Systems. He has served on the boards of at Good News Clinics and Eagle Ranch. He studied Agricultural Economics at UGA.
Chris has been a CPA in the Athens area for over 40 years and is currently a partner with Little & Jennings, P.C.. Chris graduates from UGA in 1977. He has been a Governing board member of Mercy and now serves as an Advisory board member. Chris is married to Sarah Jennings and they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. They attend Athens Church.
Dr. Stanley D. Satterfield, an Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeon, has been in private practice in Athens, Georgia since July 1981. Dr. Satterfield received his undergraduate education at the University of Georgia (1971-1974) and his D.M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia (1974-1977). He completed his internship and residency in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia (1977-1981). He began teaching Sunday School in 1981 and became a deacon in 1983. He is a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the UGA Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Athens YMCA (past President). He is currently serving on the Advisory Board for Mercy Health Center. Dr. Satterfield is married to the former Tracey Lynne Dow of Virginia Beach, Virginia. They have three daughters and two sons. The family calls Athens, Georgia home.
Charles L. Upchurch, III joined Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty in 1985 after attending the University of Georgia. Charlie has since worked in every phase of the company’s operation, and now serves as the President and Broker. He purchased the company from his father in 1998 and has continued to maintain the legacy and vision set by his father. Charlie and his wife, Dora, along with their three daughters, are long-time Athens/Oconee residents. Together, they proudly serve the Athens area through their work in a variety of civic and professional organizations. When Charlie is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, embracing the outdoors, and cheering on the Dawgs! Professionally, Charlie has represented clients such as Clarke County School Board, St. Mary’s Hospital, JDN Development, Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, University of Georgia, SunTrust Bank, Athens First Bank and Trust, Oconee County Government, medical space and numerous other properties.
