Dr. Bryson Greenwood, a North Carolina Native, started working at Mercy Health Center in 2015. After earning a liberal arts degree from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, Dr. Greenwood traveled internationally to Budapest, Hungary, where he worked at an international cellular neuroscience laboratory; and to Lima, Peru, where he studied Spanish and met his wife Katie. Along the way, he found his calling in family medicine, where he could combine his interests in science and social justice. He attended medical school and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and stayed to complete his residency in Family Medicine.
Sandy comes to us with over 44 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, being among the first in Georgia. She was instrumental in starting Athens Nurses Clinic for the homeless over 30 years ago. Sandy has worked in many community based practices and also for the University of Geirgia Health Service for 20 years. She has managed Public Health and rural health clinics and worked for United Health Group. She is a widow with three grown children and two grandsons.span>
Jessica is the staff social worker
Marisela is an MA/Phlebotomy Technician. She is both Bi cultural and Bilingual with Guatemalan decent. She is a mother of one and is engaged to her child's father. She is currently working towards furthering her education in the medical field, And feels very grateful/blessed to have the opportunity to help so many people on a daily basis as our mercy medications assistance program coordinator.
Karina is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico and graduated from high school in McAllen, TX. She went on to attend Seminario Teologico Bausista Mexicano in 2008 and in 2009 she studied pastoral ministry at World Reach Bible Institute. In 2011, Karina obtained her CNA licensure at New Horizons Medical Institute and was subsequently endorsed as a Chaplain in 2012.
Rory Joined Mercy in January of 2018 after 5 years working in Athens with St. Mary's Health Care System and Clarke County School District. He received his undergraduate degree from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and his Masters of Public Health from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Rory and his family live in Athens and attend Watkinsville First Baptist.
Susie Mobley is the Development Director at Mercy Health Center.
Dr. Murrow is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the GRU/UGA Medical Partnership, where she teaches community health to first year students. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College, her M.Sc. from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and her M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Emory University and holds Board Certification in Internal Medicine. She serves on the boards of the Athens Health Network, UGA HEROS, and the Georgia Alliance for Health Literacy. She lives in Bishop with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Murrow, and their three daughters: Madeleine, Ella and Sophie. The Murrows are active members of Ashford Memorial Methodist Church, where they teach Sunday school to the lower elementary class.
Gale joined the Mercy staff in 2017 after several years as a volunteer and a patient. She spend most of her working life as a health services researcher and college sociology instructor. Originally from Memphis, Gale graduated from Auburn University and the University of Memphis. She is member of Athens First United Methodist Church and has one grown child.
Emelissa (also known as Emy) a Chicago native, that comes to us from Puerto Rico. During her college years she joined the Disney College Program and discovered her passion to help others. She has very charismatic personality and witty sense of humor, with determination to get the job done.
Missy Sennowitz is a Staff Pharmacist at Mercy Health Center.
Mauree is a native Athenian, and married her high school sweetheart, Adam. They have two amazing boys and one daughter. She was a Mercy triage volunteer for 6 years prior to joining the staff in February 2012. She received her BSN from the Medical College of Georgia, worked as a RN in CVICU for 7 years, and then went on to complete her MSN, FNP at MCG. The Whitakers attend Watkinsville First Baptist Church.
